AIX Provence Rosé
AIX is a well-balanced premium Provence rosé with a typical hypnotising salmon pink colour. The nose is fresh and fragrant, delicate yet youthful with sophisticated notes of fresh red fruits, peach and subtle flower hints. It offers roundness on the palate and a beautiful aromatic depth, before finding freshness and some minerality in its long and precise finish. Made with love, passion and pride, AIX Rosé is elegant, generous and delicious - with the power to make any moment of the day feel effortless.
With mineral rich soils, 300 days of sun a year and the cooling Mistral winds, Provence offers the ideal growing conditions for Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault grapes, the classic blend used to make AIX Rosé. Maison Saint Aix is one of the largest domaines in the AOP Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation. At 420m above sea level, it's also one of the highest. And thanks to that elevation, they enjoy cooler nights and a greater Mistral effect, drying the vines on dewy mornings - making the fruit even better.
The perfect wine to enjoy with good company and flowing conversation - if the sun peaks out behind the clouds then even better!
Mâcon-Charnay Clos de L'Église
This is an elegant, unoaked Mâcon-Charnay. Ripe citrus notes on the nose, with a complex palate which balances baked apple and some fresh florals and a gently herbaceous and mineral streak.
This elegant Mâcon-Charnay is produced from grapes sourced from 30-50 year old vines. These vines are located in a unique, single vineyard that was once walled and is situated next to a church, adding historical and geographical significance to the wine. The Clos de L'Église is crafted in an unoaked style to highlight the natural qualities of the grapes. The winemaking process is designed to preserve the freshness and complexity imparted by the mature vines and the vineyard's unique terroir.
Ideal with a puff pastry chicken pie, or with roast belly pork! Delicious!!
Château Larose-Trintaudon
A brilliantly gleaming intense ruby red. On the nose, a festival of delicious fruit with notes of strawberry and redcurrant. Superbly fresh and well-balanced with great purity of fruit, smoothness without excessive exuberance, and a silkiness of tannins, showing the characteristic lusciousness that we appreciate so much in this very accessible wine.
Nestled between the communes of Saint-Julien-de-Beychevelle and Pauillac, the 190-hectare vineyard of Château Larose Trintaudon is planted upon one of the oldest layers of Médoc gravel, called the 'Pyrenean layer'. Situated on the borders of the Pauillac and Saint-Julien Appellations, it benefits from very similar growing conditions as its neighbour Château Latour. The soil is mainly composed of fine and sandy gravels on top of a clay-based limestone soil. The vines are 28 years old on average.
At each blending, the cellar masters practice their alchemy, testing until they succeed in unveiling the wine's true personality, a combination of intensity and opulence that expresses superb red fruit aromas whilst preserving aromatic freshness and purity. That is why, depending on the harvest and the balance of the grapes, the blend is slightly different each year. For, as everyone knows, subtle movement is the secret to perfect balance! This final blend is 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 52% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, which is aged in oak barrels for 12 to 14 months.
A showstopper wine like this demands a something special - a rib of beef should do the trick!
