Winemaker Eric Monnin has been working tirelessly over the last few years to secure the best long term contracts for these important wines sourced from specific old vine estates in Mendoza. Recent vintages have really started to show the results of this long-term vision with regards to quality and value. Las Cholitas celebrates the vibrant Bolivian women whose energy and contribution to the wineries and vineyards of the Uco Valley is an invaluable resource. A hugely proud community, famed for their traditional dress and thick, braided hair topped with a Bombín, the famously incongruous bowler hat.
Black Malbec from Tupungato's high, sandy desert soils gives this wine colour and perfume.
Crafted with respect for the wonderful fruit we have sourced, gentle extraction techniques are used to capture the vibrant red and blackcurrant fruit flavours which are hallmarks of this variety.
Of course, a perfect match with a thick, juicy steak; this wine would also shine alongside a rich mushroom risotto, roasted vegetables, or a selection of well-aged, hard cheeses.
