Interwoven flavours create a characterful wine which is a real delight to drink.
A deliciously refreshing change from straight Sauvignon Blanc, this wine takes the clean, zippy fruit from this variety and complements it with the more luscious, exotic fruit flavours of the Vermentino or Rolle as it's known in France. Bright, fresh, pink grapefruit characters are beautifully balanced out by a twist of spice from the Rolle (the original spicy grape varietal from the south opposed to Viognier which is the new import). Fresh, fruity and refreshing, the layers of fruit flavours explode in your mouth!
Both the Sauvignon and the Vermentino are planted on plots with ideal drainage conditions, on a mixture of silt, sand and alluvial deposit. The Sauvignon was harvested in late August, and the Vermentino from mid September
Cold maceration on skins, followed by pressing and alcoholic fermentation on fine lees at a temperature of 16-18°C.
Fish, seafood, Thai, chicken, pork, pancakes with good squeeze of lemon and a healthy sprinkling of sugar ... anything you fancy really as it's such a wonderful all-rounder!
