Sourced from the most important, historic Drohn Valley vineyard.
Complex aromas of lime, grapefruit and white spice. Abundant citrus characters on the palate combined with crisp, zesty acidity ensures that despite residual sugar levels of around 18g/l, the wine has a creamy yet refreshing finish.
From western Germany in the Drohn valley region (a tributary of the Mosel), Andreas Adams produced his first vintage from his grandfather's 1 hectare vineyard in 2000 aged 21. Along with his sister, he invested in the Drohn valley when the steep slopes, difficult to cultivate, were inexpensive and they now produce a stunning range of rieslings from just 5 hectares of land.
Steep south-west facing vineyard of Hofberg was first recognised as a premium site back in 1868. Somewhat abandoned in the 60's, it's now enjoying rejuvenation and producing great results. This parcel uses 30-50 year old vines on the lower slopes around the ancient stone rectory building, on the slate grey soils. Minimal intervention is key and the grapes are carefully selected and hand harvested.
Only natural yeasts are used and the wines are left on their lees in stainless steel for an extended period.
This wine can match flavoursome dishes such as pork belly cooked with Asian spices.
